For a new high-capacity filling line at a major brewery site in the Zoeterwoude area, an international filling and packaging system supplier acted as main contractor. Early in the tender phase, the contractor brought in Leemberg Pijpleidingen & Apparatenbouw B.V., so all pipework and steel structures could be aligned with the overall line design right from the drawing board. Leemberg handled the detail engineering, supply, fabrication and installation of the stainless steel and carbon steel piping and the associated steel structures for this new line.
The construction of the new line required a completely new filling installation, where pipework, structures, insulation, NDT and testing all had to fit seamlessly into the overall OEM design and the existing brewery site.
For Leemberg, this meant developing piping detail engineering within the contractor’s design constraints, delivering materials and structures on time, installing stainless steel and carbon steel piping in a hygiene-critical environment, and organising NDT (including endoscopic inspection), insulation and testing as one integrated package. All of this had to be done within a tight project framework and a shared schedule with the OEM and the brewery.
Leemberg delivered the complete piping and structural scope for the new filling line: from detail engineering and material supply to fabrication, installation, endoscopic inspection, insulation, testing and commissioning. The piping installation is both technically and hygienically integrated into the OEM’s line design and was taken into operation by the brewery without issues.
The filling line supplier had one partner for the entire piping package, and the brewery now benefits from a new, reliably performing filling line.
