To expand storage capacity for chemical products, a chemical producer built a new tank pit in Duisburg, adding 5,500 m³ of storage. Leemberg Pijpleidingen & Apparatenbouw BV was brought in to deliver and install the equipment and pumps, install several hundred metres of stainless steel and carbon steel piping, and design and execute the complete tank heating system, including detail engineering for all pipework.
The new tank pit required a complete technical solution that would allow the client to safely store and condition more chemical products. That meant designing and building an entirely new tank heating system, combined with the delivery and installation of equipment, pumps and a large volume of stainless steel and carbon steel piping.
Leemberg was responsible not only for installation, but also for piping detail engineering, making sure design, material selection, supports, routing and execution all aligned within one project scope.
For the new tank pit in Duisburg, Leemberg engineered, delivered, installed and commissioned the tank heating system, the pipework and the equipment installations. The heating system and the stainless steel/carbon steel lines are fully integrated into the tank pit and tailored to the process and safety requirements of a demanding chemical environment.
By combining engineering, material supply, fabrication, installation and commissioning in one partner, the client now has 5,500 m³ of additional storage capacity with a reliable, robust heating system ready for daily operation.
