Client: International offshore contractor
Sector: Offshore / Maritime
Location: Amsterdam - the Netherlands

An international offshore contractor was dealing with systems on board the jack-up installation vessel Boreas that were not functioning properly. This limited the vessel’s operational flexibility and, in certain situations, made safe jacking impossible. Leemberg was brought in to restore and complete the piping systems for, among others, the lube oil and cooling water systems.
On board, several piping routes were incomplete, illogical or simply not working. In a crowded engine room, under class requirements, a substantial amount of modification and completion work had to be carried out within a tight timeframe.
Leemberg took over the entire piping scope: redesigning the routing, measuring on board, prefabricating in the workshop and installing on board, using 316 stainless steel and PE composite, TIG welded and supplied with 3.1 material certificates.
The modified systems now operate as intended. Boreas can be deployed without the previous limitations, and all piping systems have been pressure tested, function tested and delivered in accordance with class requirements. The client had a single point of contact at Leemberg for engineering, prefabrication and installation, tightly managed, no noise.
